To celebrate International Women’s Day 2025, the Diversity and Equal Opportunities Unit at HKUST would like to invite you to a panel discussion - how allyship is essential to accelerate action for diversity and inclusion in the workplace, community and beyond.
International Women’s Day (IWD) is a time to celebrate women’s achievements in the past. It is also a time to think about the opportunities (and lack thereof) they have today, and strive towards creating a more inclusive world in the future. This display highlights women’s achievements and work across the ages in many areas: science, technology, the arts, music, and literature, as well as in politics and labor.

Join us for an inspiring talk with Kung Tsz Shan Janet, the sixth-ranked ice climber in the world, as we celebrate women's achievements in honor of International Women's Day! Growing up in a concrete city devoid of snow, Janet discovered her passion for mountaineering during a Scout exchange in Canada. Despite facing numerous challenges, including limited resources and bureaucratic obstacles, she pursued her dreams with grit and determination. In 2022, she made a courageous decision to resign from her nursing job and chase her passion in Nepal, reigniting her competitive spirit.
As a program committed to gender equality and fostering inclusive excellence, HKUST EMBA continues to empower women to break barriers and shape the future.

In celebration of this year’s International Women’s Day, we are holding a “WISE IWD Dinner” at China Garden. During the dinner, you will have the chance to talk more about the IWD forum held on the same day, “Opportunities and Challenges for Women Pursuing an International Career”. In order to make your discussion at the dinner more fruitful, we expect you to attend the forum (4:30pm to 5:30pm) before you come to the dinner.
