Lunchtime 40-minute Mindfulness Practice
In Celebration of International Women’s Day
The annual International Women’s Day (IWD) is just one of the many chances for us to embrace equity. For IWD 2023, our School of Engineering (SENG) is offering the gift of wellness to fuel women with calmness, clarity and peaceful energy.
Calling all ladies in the SENG Community, come join a special lunchtime wellness session designed just for you!
Embrace tranquil moments in a stress-free setting filled with sanitized mats and good vibes.
Who?
Current female students, faculty and staff in SENG of all ages, cultures and fitness levels are welcome!
When?
Session 1: Monday 6 March (1:00-1:40pm) exclusively for female SENG faculty & staff
Session 2: Tuesday 7 March (1:00-1:40pm) reserved for female SENG UG & PG students
What?
Female-only Lunchtime SENG Community Wellness Sessions, themed “Embrace Tranquility”, to celebrate International Women’s Day
40-minute mindfulness practice of stretching, breathing, and Yoga Nidra (an ancient practice of deep relaxation through guided meditation into conscious deep sleep while lying down with eyes closed). In the company of your SENG female tribe, we move with mindfulness, breathe to boost energy, lie down in blissful stillness, and build our space of tranquility together.
Special gift for participants – a soothing satin eye mask to treat yourself to some me-time
Wear soft, stretchable clothing that you can move in comfortably. Bring something to keep you warm when lying down for Yoga Nidra.
Sanitized mats are provided.
About the Instructor – Certified yoga teacher and stretching instructor Michelle Chow has been practicing yoga since 2003, obtained her first 200-hour yoga teacher training since 2014, with further teacher trainings and continuous education in Hatha, Hot, Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation. She is also a HKUST staff member of SENG Communications & External Affairs team.
